Margarita is an artist & photographer. Current MFA candidate at the Bauhaus Universität in Germany.
Her creative process instigates the narratives of gender, love, family, political violence and religion: the latter in the context of Colombian civil war. She has participated in national and international exhibitions such as Close Up at the C/O Berlin photography foundation, Missed Connections at the Fountainhead gallery, Miami and Clay Street Press in Cincinnati. Her project Berlinale is part of the book Colombian women photographers edited by Fotomeraki. Margarita has participated in artistic residencies such as The Alps art academy in Switzerland, Photography expanded at Magnum Foundation in New York, among others. In 2017 she participated in the New York Times Portfolio Review. Margarita is part of the Native Agency and her most recent publication is Further II by Fotobus Society. She currently lives and works between Germany and Colombia.
